SumatraPDF can read text aloud using Windows text-to-speech. Read Aloud (CmdToggleReadAloud, command palette and an optional toolbar button) reads the selected text or the current page. Pause and Continue (CmdPauseReadAloud, CmdContinueReadAloud) control playback. Turn on the toolbar button with Read Aloud / Show In Toolbar or the ToolbarShowReadAloud advanced setting; its drop-down lets you pick a voice.

Hover over a link inside the document, such as a [1] citation, a figure reference or a footnote mark, to see a small popup of what it points to: the bibliography entry, figure or footnote. You don’t have to leave the current page (#128, #4221). The preview is off by default: turn it on with Toggle Citation Hover Preview (CmdToggleHoverPreview) or a positive CitationHoverDelay.
