Automatically Scroll

Automatically Scroll (Ctrl + Shift + H, View menu, CmdToggleAutomaticallyScroll) scrolls the document continuously for hands-free reading. A bar at the bottom has speed, Pause/Resume, Stop and Reverse. Up/Down or 09 change the speed, Space pauses and Esc stops. The speed is saved in ReadingAutoScrollSpeed. Speed commands are also available: CmdAutomaticallyScrollFaster / CmdAutomaticallyScrollSlower (#6169).

Reading Bar

Reading Bar (CmdToggleReadingBar, View menu) puts a horizontal band on the page to help you keep your place. Reading Bar Invert (CmdToggleReadingBarInvert) dims the rest of the page instead. Drag the band to move it or its edges to resize it; Ctrl+Up/Down moves it and Ctrl+Shift+Up/Down changes its height. You can change its color and height in the ReadingBar settings (#5771).

SaveMemory setting

New SaveMemory setting (0–100, default 50) controls how quickly unused page and image caches are freed to lower memory use (#6181).

Right-click opens toolbar drop-downs

Right-clicking a toolbar button that has a drop-down (Zoom In/Out, Edit PDF Save, Read Aloud) opens the drop-down right away.

Command palette hides commands that can't run

The command palette no longer lists commands that are disabled in the current context. For example, Delete Annotation appears only when the mouse is over an annotation.

Select text under highlights

You can now drag over a highlight annotation to select the text underneath it (#6166).
