Example scripts in Run PDF Script

Run PDF Script… includes 48 example scripts, listed beside the editor (they replace the example drop-down). Picking one fills in its arguments with their defaults and hints, and output file names are numbered so they don’t overwrite earlier ones. Help opens the Run PDF Script page of the built-in manual, which lists the examples and has an Ask AI box that sends a prefilled request for a new script, with the API reference and the examples, to one of five AI providers.

AI chat as message boxes

The AI chat sidebar shows your questions in a tinted box on the right and replies in a card on the left, tool calls as small italic lines, with proper formatting of Markdown headings, lists, tables, quotes and code. The new AIChat settings set FontName, FontSize, LineSpacing and MessagePadding, and Bubbles = false keeps the plain look. Saving settings updates open chat pages (#6309).

Thumbnails regenerate with progress

After changing ThumbnailsType (in the settings file, Advanced Settings or the command palette’s = list), the home page thumbnails are re-created on a background thread. A notification names the file being worked on, and each thumbnail appears as soon as it is made.

Drop-downs for more settings

ThumbnailsType, SidebarView, SidebarBottomView, FixedPageUI.PageGrid.Style and Units, Annotations.TextIconType, TranslateEngine and the EBookUI / ComicBookUI DefaultDisplayMode offer their values as a drop-down in Advanced Settings and as a pick list in the command palette. A value that isn’t one of the choices is replaced with the default when the settings file is loaded.

Save Image keeps the original image

For a fixed-layout EPUB page that is an SVG around one JPEG, Save Image and copy now get the original image at full resolution instead of a small PNG re-rendered at the layout size (#6330).
